Mission Statement

The mission of the Maryland Neighborly Networks is to bring people together and to support people in having what is valuable and important to them: fostering the development of networks af mutually reinforcing relationships, which may create opportunities for life-enhancing experiences, centrality and richness in people's lives; encouraging reciprocal assistance in the manner of good neighbors; enabling people to have their own homes; defending people's choices and rights and helping people to have valued competencies and images.

Unique and Distinctive Qualities

Maryland Neighborly Network is a small individually oriented. Individuals live in groups of no more than three individuals per home. People are grouped based upon their preference and upon the Networks perceptions of their compatibility with one another. Each person always has his/her own bedroom.

The results of the ASK ME survey have been used to improve the satisfaction of the Networks' program participants. The results were reviewed by the top administrative staff and its Quality Assurance Committee and have been used in its planning and decision-making process.

The "Ask Me!" Survey Results is available for the general public.

Describe your quality assurance practices, including any agency accreditations.

Maryland Neighborly Network has an Active Quality Assurance Committee and weekly administrative team meetings to allow nearly constant interaction regarding quality of life and quality of acre issues. Its strongest quality assurance practice, however, comes from the longevity of its administrative team who truly know the individuals who receive its services and who truly care about those people.

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

Individuals are supported and encouraged to become active members of their communities through working with the individual's team, resource coordinator, family members, friends and advocates. Administraive staff are regularly searching for social events, classes, trips, etc. that the individuals who receive services might enjoy and benefit from.
