Mission Statement
It is the mission of My Own Place, Inc. to improve the quality of life of all persons with mental retardation and maximize independence by advocating and providing a standard of living that is driven by choices, preferences and desires.
My Own Place's vision is grounded in the organizational belief that persons with mental retardation are valued members of the society and must be afforded the same rights, choices and opportunities as any other citizen. This vision will be realized through:
- Providing an array of diversified, committed, compassionate and ethical services by maximizing ones independence.
- Providing opportunities to empower its constituents with choices that enables them to live a life of independence and dignity; and
- Enlightening the community at large to embrace these concepts.
Unique or Distinctive Qualities
Each location is specially decorated to suit the individual's personal style and flair.Allindividuals have their own bedrooms and most persons live with one other person and not in large congregate settings. MOP also plans great vacations and help people make dreams come true.
