Mission Statement

Provide persons with disabilities the opportunity to attain their greatest vocational potential through evaluation, training and support on a personal level.

Unique or Distinctive Qualities

Lower Shore Enterprises (LSE) is unique in it's primary focus on vocational assessment, training, and placement. LSE's staff focuses on the barriers that may hinder each individual client and works on creative way to work around or solve these issues. LSE also has a full time retention specialist whose job is to monitor clients that have completed 90 days or more of successful employment to ensure that problems are corrected and do not jeopardize their placement.

"Ask Me!" results have been utilized by LSE's quality Assurance team to see how client needs and desires could be better served by LSE.

LSE maintains a current QA plan which is updated yearly. LSE's QA team consists of clients and staff from each of its departments. The team meets quarterly to assure that LSE is meeting the needs of its clients and to continually work to improve its services.

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

LSE focuses on work and volunteering in the local community. LSE staffs a full time community. LSE feels a strong committment to its community and the need to have its clients function as an intergral part of that community. To This end, LSE continues to pay the clients while they are working in the community volunteer site. LSE's clients volunteer in local hospitals, nursing homes, humane societies, and non- profit organizations.

Steps Individuals Must Take to Apply for Services

Clients interested in services from LSE must go through one of its funding agencies. If the client resides in Maryland, they will be funded through the Division of Rehabilitation Services or the Developmental Disabilities Administration. If they reside in Delaware, they will contact the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation or Delaware Developmental Disability Services.
