Mission Statement

Living Sans Frontieres (LSF) Inc. strives to provide residential and support services to adults with developmental disabilities. LSF's goal is to empower the individuals that LSF serves by gearing them towards independence. LSF believes the best way to achieve independence is encouraging individuals to exercise the right of choice by offering and helping them explore a wide spectrum of preferences.

Unique or Distinctive Qualities

LSF has a distinguished principle of service delivery. Simply put, LSF espouses a holistic approach. In other words, unlike the conventional practice of "filling available spaces or slots", when an individual is referred for services, LSF utilizes a thorough process to determine appropriate placement. Thus, LSF assesses the individuals strengths and needs, proposes a preliminary course of service delivery, and encompasses the individual with identified supports. Much in that way, the probability of being compatible with potential housemates, environment or neighborhood of choice is greatly increased.

Discuss How Your Agency Has Utilized The "Ask Me!" Survey Results.

Living sans Frontieres, Inc. is honored to be one of a few agencies that has been selected to participate in the upcoming "Ask me" survey. LSF intends to fully utilize the results to focus and improve on domains that need to, when they are released.

The "Ask Me!" Survey Results is available for the general public

Describe your quality assurance practices, including any agency accreditations

Primarily, LSF runs an open program. Although LSF utilizes internal operational controls, its quality assurance practices, in no small way, elicit the keen impressions of externalities. In other words, proponents such as individuals' parents, legal guardians and Resource Coordinators are given the opportunity to contribute to the quality of its services through satisfaction surveys. Internally, performance indicators and thresholds are two ways, among others, that LSF uses to ensure an effective and progressive service delivery. Ultimate approval of its quality assurances practices are subject to the oversight of a Quality Assurance team, which is comprised of individuals, their parents and independent, unaffiliated people in the community.

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

Individuals in the agency are encouraged to explore various community events and organizations. LSF assists and supports Individuals who express interest in becoming members of such organizations. LSF makes a concerted effort to educate members of the community to rebut misconceptions about developmental disabilities, thereby fostering a more receptive relation between individuals and the community at large.
