Mission Statement

The mission of Head Injury Rehabilitation and Referral Services, Inc. (HIRRS), is to provide comprehensive, high quality and cost effective outpatient and residential rehabilitation services to individuals with acquired brain injury and their families to restore them to optimal function.

Unique or Distinctive Qualities

HIRRS provides comprehensive, community-based supports to individuals that have sustained brian injury attributed to trauma, injury or disease. The agency is able to serve varied levels of impairment while still individualizing treatment to meet the specific goals of individuals. HIRRS also provides supports to individuals with othe neurological impairments that are not directly attributed to brain injury.

HIRRS has shared the "Ask Me" Survey with key staff and with the Quality Assurance Committee in order to assist the agency in developing and implementing strategies to increase client productivity, success, integration into the community and satisfaction with the services and supports provided by the agency.

HIRRS has a Director of Quality Assurance who leads the process of continuous improvement within the agency. The Director of Quality Assurance also assists the Quality Assurance Committee that meets on a regular basis to review HIRRS' policies, procedures and practices and to recommend beneficial changes

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

While community participation is an individual choice, HIRRS encourages clients in developing relationships within the community utilizing public facilities and recreational opportunities. The agency assists individuals in exploring new opportunities whenever possible or desired. HIRRS also assist clients in community rights and privileges, such as voting.
