Mission Statement

The mission of Emerge is to create supportive environments and individualized services for people with disabilities.

Unique and Distinctive Qualities

There are so many things that distinguish Emerge as not just another agency care provider. Perhaps foremost is the ability of Emerge to treat each customer as an individual - planning with the customers and their support teams exactly what they need and want in life. These plans are then put into actions so as to ensure that each customer has a completely individualized plan for their lives.

Emerge helps individuals served, their families, and friends to determine what they want and then build supports around the individuals. It also assists people in a wide array of ways to remain in their own home or their family's homes. Emerge uses creative supports to assist families. This may include assisting therapists and staffing options from skill trainers to nannies. Emerge also provides many options for people to receive work or meaningful day services. Emerge offers assistance in finding jobs, including resume writing and interviewing, individual skill training.

Emerge has the expertise with co-occuring mental illness. In fact, Emerge believes that every individual with disabilities, no matter how complex their personal situation, has aplace at Emerge. And, Emerge believes in making lifetime commitments to its customers. This commitment can be best be encapsulated in a simple statement: "We never say die!"

Along with a comprehensive internal Quality Assurance initiative, Emerge utilizes the "Ask Me!" survey results by review and evaluation of trends toward customer overall satisfaction with service delivery.

Emerge has submitted a DDA required Quality Assurance Plan with annually approved revision. Quality Assurance practices include independent review of service location with an individually designed plan of correction to identify any needed enhancements of services

How Does Your Agency Support People In Becoming Active Members Of Their Community?

The mission of Emerge is to create supportive environments and individualized services for people with disabilities. Emerge's vision – that individuals with disabilities will lead lives of optimum quality and independence – will guide its decisions in the years to come. Its values best exemplify what makes Emerge so very unique. Emerge believes that each person with a disability deserves the right to quality services in a safe and caring environment. And lastly, Emerge believes that each person with adisability has the right to a full life, is a vital part of society, has potential and is worthy of respect.

Emerge actualize its Mission and Vision through myriad programs to ensure that each customer plays a role in his/her communinity as desired. Emerge opportunities in its Residential Program by becoming active in community organizations. Staff and customers participate in many community activities and are often involved in planning and implementation of events. Emerge's Employment Program offers individuals many ways to interact in the community at large. Through individualized placements of customers in the workplace or through group/enclave contracts, Emerge's customers are actively engaged in work experiences that guarantee interaction and involvement in the community. Finally, its Day Program has developed a wide spectrum of programs that ensure customers have ample opportunities to connect with the community. Whether through trips to malls, museums, sporting and entertainment events, or through its extensive involvement with community non-profit agencies serving a wide variety of people, Emerge customers participate in and make contributions to the community at large.

Steps Individuals Must Take To Apply For Services

To apply for services a customer must be eligible for services through the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). The customer must complete an application for services and submit the application to Emerge. Upon receipt of the application an individual will be offered the opportunity to take a tour of Emerge and the opportunity to talk with various program directors within the agency to determine which program services the potential customer is interested in receiving.
