CSS utilizes an internal process for insuring quality assurance. Data is collected on client progress. Every client's progress is reviewed monthly and specific plans are reviewed on a regular basis. Programmatic quality is reviewed through monthly status program. In addition, CSS Board of Directors completes and annual internal evaluation of quality assurance, including customer satisfaction, programmatic quality, and staff qualifications. Finally, the state of Maryland conducts and external evaluation at regular intervals.
CSS assesses each individual's needs, desires, and preferences with respect to community involvement, including community recreation and vocational interests. An individual's needs, desires, and preferences are prescribed, through a team that meets regularly. CSS's residential program includes focus on community access and on developing the skills necessary for the individual to successfully engage his/her community. Specifically, programmatic focus includes emphasis on participating in generic and specialized resources in the community for recreation, leisure, socialization opportunities, utilizing public transportation, and other areas as identified by the individual and/or family. CSS's vocational program emphasizes job development, on-the job support, and transportation to ensure the successful acquisition and retention of employment. Programmatic focus also includes behavior management, increasing job related skills, appropriate work behavior, interviewing, obtaining and maintaining employment through direct hire or volunteer position in an area of interest, job coaching, socialization opportunities, utilizing public transportation, nd other areas as identified by the individual and/or family.
